Your Heart's Desire by Melody Carlson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
If you like historical romance this is a great read. I love the WWII era and this novel is set in post WWII California.
Caroline Marshall is a war widow with a young son. Caroline decides to move across the country to live with her sister and her new husband. As soon as Caroline arrives she knows she has made the right choice. Her only worry is that she might not find a job. Her brother-in-law suggests she try finding work at the chocolate factory where he works. On her way to apply she stops to get coffee. While there she meets a handsome man who she later discovers is the owner of the chocolate factory. Caroline begins working as a temporary secretary at the chocolate factory while one of the secretaries is on leave. During her time there Caroline and Terrance, the owner of the chocolate factory, develop a close friendship but others at the office become jealous and threaten to stop this budding romance before it starts. Terrance and Caroline must decide what they are willing to risk for a second chance at love.
I’ve read quite a few books by Melody Carlson but this is one of my favorites.
